Emily Ratajkowski & Janelle Monáe Strike a Pose in 'Marie Claire's 2017 Fresh Faces Issue

Marie Claire has chosen some bold beauties to honor as 2017′s freshest faces. These five women embody the virtues of collective womanhood and feminism all while leading their industries. The fourth annual cover features a range of talents, from recording artist and actress Janelle Monáe to model Emily Ratajkowski, who share wisdom on working and thriving in male-dominated spaces and provide hope that women will receive the recognition they deserve for their contributions.

Actress Zoey Deutch shares:

“As a woman raised by brave, strong women, and men who support brave, strong women, I still feel myself falling into that ‘trying to be liked’ thing, which is f—cking bullsh*t. If you’re a nice person, just be nice. If you make art to please people or to make people like you—well, it’s never going to happen.”
